miq440

Convert IP to 4x DVB-C transponders

Description

Description

miq440 – IP to DVB-C modulator, MPTS or SPTS up to 200Mbps input, 4 adjacent channels output
Modular reception system, Quatro IP DVB modulator
Converting of TSoIP input signal into 4 QAM/COFDM modulated channels

Description:
Conversion of IP stream (TSoIP) provided in UDP/RTP protocols (unicast/multicast SPTS and MPTS transmissions) to DVB-C QAM standard, reception of IP stream with bit rate up to 200 Mbps and conversion of it into freely configured four neighboring DVB-C multiplexes (MUXes), injection of signals from IP cameras (H.264/H.265) into CATV distribution network, each of the four DVB-C MUXes can have maximum bit rate up to 53 Mbps, the administrator can select the output channels and filter services in digital streams, cooperation with IPTV streamers that enable management and distribution of satellite, terrestrial and CATV channels within Ethernet (LAN) networks based on twisted-pair cabling, easy management and control via RJ-45 port simplifies installation procedure, USB port allowing for playing materials provided in .ts format, management and control via the Internet, event history (logs), AGC function.

In practice, each of the four multiplexes can carry 8 SD channels or 4-5 HD channels. The administrator of the system selects the required channels from the IP stream and forms the four DVB-C MUXes. In each case, it is neceeesary to remember about 10% safety margin when determining the maximum bit rate for the whole multiplex (typically the ultimate bit rate of a multiplex should not exceed 48 Mbps). The output DVB-C QAM multiplexes are usually distributed to users by a passive network composed of RF splitters/taps. Such a solution is especially convenient in modern hotel TV systems distributing a variety of satellite channels, including HD broadcasts.

Thanks to its RJ-45 Ethernet port, the programming of the miq-440 panel is performed via a web browser (no need for a programmer).

The transmodulator can be integrated with other components:
● media converters, which are used for transmission of IP signals via fiber-optic medium
● IPTV streamers, which are used for management and distribution of satellite, terrestrial and cable DVB television channels within Ethernet (LAN) networks based on twisted-pair cabling
● IP cameras – injection of H.264/H.265 signals into CATV distribution network without a need for additional DVB-C modulators

Miq-440 can create four DVB-C multiplexes (MUXes), each with maximum throughput of 53 Mbps, which is sufficient for support of 16 Full HD IP cameras. In this case, each MUX should transmit signals from 4 Full HD IP cameras. The number of supported IP cameras is limited both by the capacity of the processor (the maximum load should be limited to 90%) and maximum throughput of each DVB-C multiplex (max. 53 Mbps, a safety margin recommended).

The miq440 units can be mounted on the 19DIN-U DIN rail (also in a RACK cabinet) and powered from DR-60-12 or UP410S or UP413 power supply.
